Out in the open: HIV/ AIDS resource set for secondary students

Major achievement: Production of the first nationally-recognised HIV/AIDS and STDs resource set for secondary schools.
The project: Providing interesting, useful resource material for all secondary levels on sexually transmissible diseases is a major challenge … and an exciting opportunity.
Working with a University of Melbourne team, and our own health educators, we reviewed relevant curriculum frameworks and prepared teaching strategies about how best to fit the kit content into existing curriculum.
We then wrote all the learning resources: detailed information about all aspects of HIV/AIDS, and a range of interesting activities for students. Finally, we designed and produced the whole kit.
